Kelly - Owner

Kelly

Owner, President Illinois Pawnbroker's Association

I've been around the jewelry business for the better part of my life. I have spent many many years buying and selling to pawn shops. So, when I decided to open this shop in 2002, I knew exactly what I wanted it to be. Friendly, Clean, Bright, Inviting, and staffed with people who really enjoyed the pawn business. After many years, I have assembled a great staff of knowledgeable, friendly, funny people. I love what I do and these people make coming to work everyday enjoyable.

If I wasn't a pawnbroker, I think I'd be a Chef.

Andy - Manager

Andy

Pawnbroker Extraordinaire / Manager

I have always enjoyed buying and selling various items, whether it be all types of music gear, numismatics, or antiques. In addition to collecting coins, I have always enjoyed going to flea markets and garage sales hoping to find anything that grabbed my eye. Kelly and I first met when I was 15 and my dad was in the store buying instruments. Kelly would show me whatever coins he had gotten in. I am very pleased to be working for someone who had a profound influence on me as a kid, and whom I have such respect for. Also, the opportunities and education he has provided me. I get to do what I love and have learned so much working in the pawn industry.

Melissa - Assistant Manager

Melissa

Pawnbroker Extraordinaire Assistant

Hey everyone, I'm Melissa! I was born and raised in the beautiful city of Chicago. I come from a wonderful Polish family and have two older brothers who used to torture me when I was little. Now, they like to look out for me. My family is very traditional, that's why my parents sent me to Polish school on Saturdays since first grade. I am very thankful that they did because now I read, write, and speak fluently in Polish. Ever since I was little I have always liked to try on my mom's jewelry. Especially her chunky costume jewelry from the 70's and 80's. Now I get to do it every day at work; only now it's with the real stuff! I love meeting new people and hearing their stories on the items they bring in. Everyday is a new adventure.
